Brackenwood - '16 Barbera, Adelaide Hills SA
Varietal: 100% Barbera (say: Bar - bear - rah, not your nan’s name, Barbara)
Winemaking: Fully bio-dynamic vineyard practices and minimal intervention winemaking means the purity of the Kuitpo sub region shines through the wine. One of the best regions in Australia for growing Piemontese grape varieties.
Nose: Red currants, blackberry and subtle spice
Palate: Casis, licorice and dark berries
Our Notes: Continuing our love for north western Italian grape varietals, the 2016 Brackenwood Barbera is not your standard quaffer. Although there is approachability with this wine, it will hold up next to some seriously good pasta or slow cooked lamb.
If you love pizza as much as we do, grab yourself a bottle of this next time you have a craving for Anchovy Bandit pizza.
We know that won’t take long… I’m eating one now.
Music Pairing: That's Amore - Dean Martin, Dick Stabile and his Orchestra.
